| A Word from Ms. Cynthia, Posted 11/04/09 |
|
The October Carnival was a success! Thanks go out to all the teachers, parents, and grandparents who helped in any way. Although the rain was relentless, the students were thoroughly enjoying themselves inside. Teachers have caught their breaths and are now planning for a busy November. Wish lists are being prepared in anticipation of beneficial materials, instruments, etc. Instead of relying on traditional fundraisers, CVMS relies on the yearly wish list to expand and update our Montessori classrooms. These items are greatly utilized as well as appreciated! Teachers will be distributing their wish lists at Parent/Teacher Conferences on Friday, November 13th. If you have not already done so, please contact your teacher for an allotted time. Extended care will be offered. Thank you to Ms. Laura Dillard - Andrew Mencer's grandmother - for all of her hard work on the embroidery work she had done on "hoodies" and sweatshirts. These will be displayed in your child's classroom next week and a order form will be given to you at the P/T Conference. Let's keep the CVMS spirit alive! Please remember that there is no school the day before the conferences: Thursday, November 12th; this is a teacher workday. There will be no extended care offered. Flu vaccines will be offered to students on November 17th. We were told by the Arkansas Department of Health that these will be seasonal vaccinated, hopefully, the H1N1. They cannot ensure us, so please be aware that it may just be seasonal flu vaccines. On a final note, please remember to turn in your child's completed re-enrollment papers for the 2010-2011 school year before the Christmas holidays. Registering during this early enrollment not only secures your child's spot, but also relieves you of the $200.00 yearly building fee. Although a verbal promise is always appreciated, we must have the filled-out form and registration fee as we have done so in years' past. Please feel free to call the office at any time to discuss concerns or ideas. We have gotten so many great ideas and suggestions from our parents. Most Sincerely ![]() Ms. Cynthia Poole, Administrator |

| A New School Year Begins!, Posted 8/20/09 |
Last
week was a terrific start-off to the new school
year! The elementary students greatly enjoyed their
first week of riding the 42-passenger school bus to
The Little Rock Racquet Club for an hour of
swimming. Parents, please remember to bring a towel
and a swimsuit with your child to school on Tuesday
mornings as we complete the swimming rotation. Also,
sunscreen and flip-flops if you have them.We started our Spanish and French lessons with Mrs. Coranza and Mrs. Seren last week. Both ladies were born in their home countries of Mexico and France. We are so lucky to have these two parents available to offer authentic and fun lessons to our students. Please remember that the optional hot lunch is no available from D's catering. The children greatly enjoyed the food last Thursday, and we are hoping that more parents sign up. With pizza being offered on Friday's, that is two days of the week that parents get a break from packing a lunch. Please call the office if you haven't signed up for hot lunch and wish to do so; it is not too late. It is exciting to have Mrs. Amber Nicklaus join our staff here at CVMS. She is an Arkansas-state certified teacher in elementary education and brings years of experience with her to the classroom. She is completing her Montessori training this summer as well. Finally, if your child wishes to participate in the art class or dance class offered after school, they are going to begin in September. |
